Announcement From The Chairman
13th November 2008 There will be an article today in the Burton Mail about Gresley Rovers so I thought I would tell you, our supporters on our web site. As some of you will know Gresley Rovers is going through an exercise to try and turn this club around financially after it was left in financial turmoil by the last regime. Since we arrived here in April we have been working hard to try and get some money into this club and during this time we have been in negotiation with a company about buying the ground and helping us move to a new ground. Unfortunately, the company in question has now pulled out of the negotiation and put Gresley Rovers Football Club right back where it started. At this time we are taking advice from professional people on the different choices we have to secure the future of Gresley Rovers Football Club and we have had a meeting with the FA to put some ideas to them regarding those choices. Further meetings with various people are scheduled for this week and next. While what I have written seems daunting, the Board remain positive and we are now appealing to anyone out there that wants to back this great club to come forward and help in any way they can. This is the time we need you to be strong, we are in need of your support, now more than any time in the past. I know you will be worried and I know you will have questions about what is happening but please trust us, we have got a fantastic team working very hard for the club to make sure that there will be football played at Gresley now and in the future.
