Chasetown Pre-Match News

12th September 2008
Defender Jamie Hood, who has missed the last four games due to holiday, is back for tomorrow's FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round at the Moat Ground and looks certain to be included in the squad.

This gives manager Gary Norton a selection headache as the present pairing of Nathan Morris and Miles Chamberlain have played well in the centre of defence in Hood's absence.

Defender Sam Wilson is expected to recover from his dead leg picked up against Quorn on Tuesday and Ollie Hancock should also have recovered from a knee injury that saw him miss the last game.

Midfielder Gavin Saunders is missing due to holiday, as is Barry Woolley who is still recovering from a dislocated shoulder picked up in pre-season.

Striker Stuart Copnell is available for tomorrow's game having not played for his former club Retford in the previous round.

Winger Robbie Banks and Hancock will face late fitness checks before it is decided if they will be risked in the squad.

Reserve Team keeper Simon Baldwin looks set to be amongst the 7 substitutes allowed in the competition as could promising youth Team forward Mathew Weightman who this week agreed to sign a contract with the club.
