55 years ago Linby Colliery played hosts to Rovers in a Central Alliance game at the Gate House Ground, Hucknall on the 15th April 1953.
Rovers: Simnett, Smith, Wood, Webb, Storer, Hallam, Nicklin, Green, Bayles, Tapping, Allen.
Linby: Draper, Robinson, Dickens, Coleman, Severn, Hart, Thomas, Wardle, Williamson, Dulson, Bradbury.
Goals from Johnson, Allen, Green and Nicklin gave us an easy 4-0 victory.
43 years ago Rovers, already league champions, entertained Newhall United in an East Midlands Regional League match on 17th April 1965.
Early play was even then United took the lead in the 20th minute when John Burton hit home the rebound after Bryan's shot had been blocked by Holland. Rovers got their deserved equaliser a minute from time when John Boulton scored from the spot after Bill Hardwick had pulled down Jordan.
An attendance of 1,300 paid £92-9s-3d to watch the following sides.

34 years ago Alvaston St Helens visited Gresley on 15th April 1974 for an East Midlands League game. Robinson and Green set up Peat and he beat McCulloch to give Alvaston a 19th minute lead. King equalised on the half hour when he headed home a Don McAughtrie corner.
Hendricks put the visitors in front again early in the second half and although we applied intense pressure we could not grab an equaliser. Final score 1-2.
